The Novo Futuro Association is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity, recognized as of Superior Social Interest, which was founded in Portugal in 1996. This Association’s purpose is to welcome and support Children and Young People deprived of a family atmosphere.
Our Origin
Novo Futuro has the principles set on the Convention on the Rights of the Child as its guidelines, it acts according to the Children and Young People at Risk Protection law and adopts the spirit of the Asociación Nuevo Futuro, founded in Spain more than 30 years ago and highly sponsored by Infanta Pilar (King Juan Carlos’ sister). Over the years, Nuevo Futuro has spread its philosophy among other countries. In Portugal since 1996, by Maria de Jesus Barroso.
Worldwide
Novo Futuro –Portugal, has developed a partnership with the Sao Tome and Principe Novo Futuro Foundation. The first Novo Futuro home in S. Tome was opened on the 1st June 2004, with the co-operation of the Portuguese Novo Futuro.

In Santa Fe de Bogota, Colombia in 1993.
In In Peru since 1995.
In Furthermore, the Nuevo Futuro Association co-operates with several institutions in other countries such as Guatemala, Mexico, Bolivia, Venezuela, Russia, India and Afghanistan. Our Mission
To support Children and Young People, preferably groups of brothers and sisters – regardless of age, gender, race or religion – who are deprived of a stable family environment, by welcoming them into small Homes where they will find well-being, affection and an education, by protecting their privacy and intimacy, and by creating the conditions which will enable their character to develop until they integrate in society.
